Last fall we had the pleasure of designing the perfect cake spread for our dear friend and colleague, Matthew Robbins, botanical inspired wedding in Cold Springs, NY. Three of Matthew's favorite wallpapers, by Graham & Brown, were layered to form the backdrop for the trio of gluten-free and vegan madagascar vanilla cakes with ginger icing.
This past summer we worked closely with Micaela & Guy to design this trio of gluten-free cakes for their wedding at The Foundry in LIC. They are such a vibrant, beautiful couple it wasn't hard to pull inspiration from their love to create something extra unique and special.
I'm thrilled to announce that Lael Cakes will be kicking off their 1st workshop this November 23rd! Come join me in our Brooklyn studio for a unique afternoon of sculpting, painting & assembling a gorgeous sugar dogwood branch.
In case you missed it, Lael Cakes was voted one of the top 100 cake designers in the United States and top 4 in NYC! Check out the spread from Brides Magazine August/September issue to see our behind the scene shot by Jen Huang, custom cake designs for the magazine and our modern cake that was featured.
Over the summer I gathered with a group of wedding gals to create the most decadent summer outdoor soiree. Being amongst these talented women inspired me to create the dessert you'll see below. During the summer heat I like to keep cake servings on the light side and take advantage of all the fresh fruit and herbs from our garden. To achieve this I layered our gluten-free lemon drop cake with lemon curd and accented them with fresh mint sprigs and topped them with cherries and blueberries. For a variation substitute the mint with basil or thyme!
This Saturday we'll be serving our ginger-lemon cake with blood orange icing and a decadent almond cake with green tea ganache. By the slice or whole. We'll also have our famous salted caramel cups, along with our gluten-free flour mix. All desserts are gluten-free, vegan and soy free.
